| TRACP-5b

TRACP-5b is a subtype of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) and belongs to the type 5 isoenzyme of the acid phosphatase family, with a molecular weight of approximately 30-40 kDa‌. It is specifically secreted by ‌osteoclasts‌ and serves as a critical biomarker reflecting bone resorption activity‌.Involved in osteopontin/bone sialoprotein dephosphorylation. Its expression seems to increase in certain pathological states such as Gaucher and Hodgkin diseases, the hairy cell, the B-cell, and the T-cell leukemias.
